I thought it was an awesome dark read that could have lost 100 pages along the way and been better for it. I got hooked from the beginning but it really gets rough a few hundred pages in… Still the ending was satisfying, and overall I enjoyed the book.

Houdini and Stoner Witch are great, but the first I ever heard from them was Stag, which is damn weird, but also great, and I feel essential in understanding the sense of humor that runs through everything else they do. They are a band that doesn't give a shit about whether you like them or not, and sometimes it seems

They made a really really good live action movie just a few years ago "Beowulf and Grendel." Filmed in Iceland. Grendel is just a huge caveman looking guy. It's well done. But I think since its foreign and more of an indie thing and came out right around the terrible American one, no one noticed..

I knew Barristan was dead as soon as he started telling that little anecdote. But goddamn did Grey Worm break my heart. Fuck you indeed Game of Jerks. Can't wait for next week.

I was going to come down here and say the same thing about W. Not knocking the three that got picked, but goddamn, Wolf Parade doesn't have a bad song. Epic stuff.

I went to see the Foo Fighters just because Motorhead was opening for them. It was pretty brilliant. All the nice young kids sitting around waiting for the Foo to come on while they were subsequently terrorized by Motorhead really made it worth while. I did stick around for the first of three sets that the Foo

I have a theory that Enter Sandman by Metalica is about Michael Jackson… "Sleep withe one eye open / gripping your pillow tight" "take my hand / off to never-never land" It's all clear as day to me.

I sure do…

Seriously why the hell do you need to keep spitting out shitty versions of an awesome poem saga thingy? The Beowulf and Grendel movie that was shot in Iceland, (I think, could have been New Zealand to), was awesome. Stop trying.

I always thought it had like a really cool retro '50s vibe to it. Like rockabilly in space. I guess I can see the U2 similarities, but I always thought Black Francis was going for a soulful crooning thing. Bono would be hitting falsettos by the 30 second mark, and the Edges guitar would have so much fucking delay on

Yeah, but he's right nearly all the time, so I can forgive it.

Nah, calling Prince a "purple dwarf in assless chaps" was most definitely a bash. Besides, he said Prince's music was poison. But man, that dwarf comment was one of the funniest mental images I've had put in my head in a while. Also, I've never really liked Prince myself.

I really enjoy the stupid meta lyrics on Space… But yeah, it's a bit over cooked I guess. Still the album wins outright for the first 2 minutes of Bird Dream Of Olympus Mons

And their new albums are still caliber, so it's not like you're only there to hear them play That's When I reached For My Revolver. Love that band.

I was finishing her part for her. Know what I mean?

I concur. Walking With A Killer rules!

I'm much more in the Surfer Rosa camp actually. Love Dolittle too of course, but from the moment the drums hit on Bone Machine I know I'm locked in for the whole damn album. There's a few songs on Dolittle I will always skip though. And I think I might be the only person on the planet that really never cared for Gouge

I too have been drowning myself with Title TK lately. I love it. The She, Son of Three and Sinister Foxx are some of the best songs the Breeders ever did. I think that all it really says about you is that you have impeccable tastes. Well done.

For sure. It don't get much weirder, (or at least I hope it doesn't). However, I attribute that book to making a very paranoid fucked up time period all the more paranoid and fucked up.

I happened to be in the middle of 1984 (the book), when 9/11/01 happened. Gotta say, that was weird week.
