Joan’s iPhone doesn’t seem to have access to a dictionary/thesaurus app...

You know you’ve just published a total piece of crap, don’t you Joan? Aren’t you embarrassed someone you know might read it? Oh and a heads up? Betrothed doesn’t mean what you think it means.

Who can blame her, this whole thing has been a nightmare to watch from afar, I can’t begin to imagine how hard it is to live through.

IMHO, you have it backwards. Girls and women’s sports are the protected category. Research needs to be done to back trans girls inclusion, not the other way around.

And it is frustrating to have people act as though it is just so impossible for trans girls to compete in the boys category and ignore the multiple

If I, who am biologically and self affirmatively female, take hormones to improve my performance, I would be banned for cheating even if I kept the range inside the very top of what considered within range for women.

The whole public push for trans inclusion in sport is very, very, very new. Like literally just in the last few years. As of yet, very few sports let trans women compete vs. girls. I am saying that if it becomes mainstream, yes, trans women competing in girls’ and women’s sports will be the death of those sports. Why

So you can put to bed this idea that there’s an enormous trend of trans girls who have undergone zero medical intervention but are allowed to dominate girls’ sports simply on the strength of their IDing as girls. That’s basically not happening.”

Of course, all this is solely in respect to pro athletic contests. Amateurs and youth athletics are about participation, not prowess.”

It’s a common tactic around here. If you don’t have a good argument, ask someone for their sources so you can nitpick the publication rather than try to make a contrasting argument.

I look at it as a swing up vs swing down situation. If you’re on varsity and swing down to play against JV teams that’s shitty. If you’re on JV and swing up to play varsity that’s fine. Men’s teams being varsity and women’s being JV makes it pretty simple to understand.

I doubt that either you or I are suited to be the judge of whether this single small study can be called “well-constructed” when compared to the other studies. It’s got a vanishingly small sample size, does not study athletes, has a very limited time frame, and only looks at two leg muscles. All of those things would

A single study can’t of course be 100% conclusive, but it is a more well-constructed scientific study than the few supporting trans inclusion in women’s sports. Most of those are just guesswork about the impact on athletes that transitioned many years or even decades ago. This one was based on detailed measurements of

Likely referring to how in later in life transitions the skeletal structure, bone density, and just general size advantages remain. Using myself as an example if I were to transition I would still have my large hands and skeleton that has been effected by decades of elevated test levels and not effected by estrogen

Yes.

Then you just destroyed all of women’s sports... For example, adult league hockey is broken into A, B, C, D and E leagues with A being the highest skilled players. What you are suggesting is to do that with all amateur sports, which is basically what we have at the collegiate level, i.e. div 1, 2 and 3). However, they

The latest peer research indicates that hormone therapy does not significantly reduce the biological advantages MtF athletes have.

That’s a weird analogy. You were disadvantaged but still wanted an opportunity to compete. You’re holding it up as a parallel to people who want to enter competitions where they have a natural, physical, chemical and biological advantage. It doesn’t really work as a logical parallel.

So if gender is entirely a social construct, then should we just have men and women compete at all sports in the same division? Whatever happened to giving women a chance to succeed? There’s a good reason they’re separated. Peoples’ bodies develop differently.

“she didn’t cite her sources therefore she must be lying!”
Yknow google is very easy to use.
