It’s clearly a humor book.  It’s pretty questionable how funny it is though.

Do you disagree with calling this book hacky and cliched?

Does Germany still even HAVE the death penalty?

This really is ABC sitcom circa 1996-level humor, though. It also seems extremely whitebread. Who’s the target audience for this? Middle class white grandfathers?

Trail runners are easily the worst. Fuck those clowns in their Jim Walmsley cosplay outfits bombing down the trail at a whopping 6 mph like they’re training for Western States so they can go to the craft brewery later and sit around in their trucker hats trading Strava readings while complaining that the IPA has too

Well you see, Amy Heckerling doesn’t have a penis and therefore cannot be at fault. At least not here.

I tell you what.

Taste the meat, not the heat”  (This message approved by B. Strickland.)

I totally agree. This is a very new, very nuanced debate with no solid evidence one way or the other if its a fair or unfair advantage to be born male and then transition and compete against women.

As a trans man, Mosier is no doubt taking testosterone, and has a TUE to compete using exogenous T. He is not competing on his pre-transition (ie female) level of testosterone. Mosier is a superb athlete, puts in all the work, etc to make those national teams, but can make sure his T stays constant throughout tough

The Yao Ming/Michael Phelps example has been used ad nauseam and is a poor, poor analogy.

Here is something I don’t understand, genuinely. This isn’t an attempt at a “gotcha.” I feel like I often hear “there is a difference between gender and sex!” said a lot when trying to explain transgender issues to people who don’t want to accept the idea of non-binary at all. But then, here, it seems like no

This issue, and how Deadspin is covering it, continues to frustrate me. Like many here, I agree that the way those social media posts slam the situation is absurd, especially since there is no way Owens knows anything about of those other female athletes, but at the same time the article here, as an example, relies on

2016: Craig Telfer is ranked #200

Yes, I know trans women are women. Where did I say they weren’t?

Let me give you a realistic hypothetical. Let’s just say there are three spots on the men’s 100m track team for the US to compete in the Olympics. A month before Olynpics qualifiers were to begin, the clear #4 sprinter decides that he’s not going to even

No one posts about the transathletes when they lose because ultimately very few care if some kids just want to participate. If you’re a FTM high schooler who just wants to be on a team and have fun, do it with whatever body you want. If you’re in a position to swipe a scholarship, prize money, or an Olympic spot, no

As Parker Molloy noted in a thread responding to the tweet above, there exists a bundle of right-wing websites whose only interaction with D-II track and field comes when Telfer succeeds.

What?

All that shows is that testosterone is not only factor in the reason as to why biological men are faster than biological women and therefore it stands to reason that a mtf trans woman that is limiting their testosterone still has biological advantages.

The only real argument is whether those advantages are unfair.

I have deeply mixed feelings about this. I hate to agree with any plank of trans-phobic, horrible people like those above, but for me denying the advantage here goes against logic, unlike every other progressive plank I fight for. Of course trans women are women, and Candace Owens is a bigot. But of course the bell
