Dude there are a whole bunch of good men in the ad itself. It’s served up in very simple and explicit images: they’re right there, doing good things!

Also - it explicitly addresses the issue of the inculturation you’re talking about, and asks us to (a) recognize and (b) rescue ourselves from it. Further, in multiple

I cried watching it. The End.

I saw one comment that really hit the nail on the head. Those who don’t get it are the ones the ad is referring to.”

I don’t know if Gillette razors cut into hair better than other razors, but nothing cuts into a person better than the truth.

The part that seems extra bonkers to me is that, by including Terry Crewe’s testimony, Gillette was even explicitly acknowledging male victims, which is something MRAs frequently scream about.

That, and that fact that anyone would even MENTION them as a group instead of as the societal norm.

I cannot believe anyone would have a problem with this ad. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Let me guess, they also feel the need to say they don’t abuse women and are Nice Guys(TM).

My friend posted it to her feminist meme page and there’s been a huge influx of angry dudes screaming they’re boycotting Gillette now.

The responses are fucking insane. I can’t see how anyone finds it offensive to suggest it’s better that a grown man intervene when a school kid is being beat up by a gang of kids?

I’ve been diving deep into discussions about this ad on my social media lately and men still can’t tell me why they are specifically upset about this commercial.  It just gets sidetracked about politics, religion, etc.

Some people are shitty.

It’s all about how high and how tight. Camilla’s probably fine so long as she varies the placement of her ponytail a little so that the same spot isn’t stressed every day, but Arianna’s ponytail is too high to wear without damage on a regular basis.   Some hair types can tolerate that style better than others, but the

I think it depends on where the tail is set. At the back crown of your head, it usually doesn’t hurt tooo much unless you have a LOT of hair. A topknot though? To keep it set it has to be pretty tight and that hurts like hell.

I remember reading an interview with her where she admitted her natural hair is a complete mess from wearing extensions constantly and the high pony.

Or will get it, like Naomi Campbell (who basically had to have extensions constantly for work) :(

Didn’t she put it out there several years ago that her hair is a mess because on the Disney show she had to dye/bleach it constantly and she wears the ponytail because her hair is in such terrible shape? In my imagination, she just has some scruff that they manage to attach extensions to.

She must have insane traction alopecia.

It probably hurts all the time, and is leading to hair loss.
