My rapist sent me a friend request on facebook, and when I declined it, he messaged me saying something along the lines of “I was hoping we could both just move on already and be civil.” I then deleted my facebook and haven’t looked backed.

So my advice is to block that fucker’s number. You don’t owe an explanation,

Something like this is certainly ripe for abuse, and I’m going to let you in on a little secret among us anonymous women: we don’t fucking care, and this isn’t about you.

There’s no reason except for networking and connecting with fans, which is a pretty big aspect of their work.

But this isn’t just a threat to sex workers. It’s also dangerous for domestic abuse victims, or even just people that keep separate accounts for their family, professional, and private lives. I have a trans

Nah, I’m sick of men. I’m sick of their abuse. I’m sick of their defenses for their abuse. I’m sick of them trying to correct us when we tell them we’re sick of them.

If you’re a man, and you’re response to this isn’t “yeah, I’m sick of us too,” then you’re not fucking helping, so just shut up. I’m sick of you.

You mean you refuse to believe the accused is guilty until a there’s a conviction, which means you’re perfectly willing to believe the accuser is guilty of filing a false report.

You’re no hero here to remind us, members of the public not serving on this man’s jury, that the accused is “innocent until proven guilty” in

There’s pretty good evidence of an affair he had with a male model.

It was rumored that he had an affair with one of his male models (he was formerly accused of sodomy, but the charges were later dropped). Other than that, it’s mostly speculation and the writings of his students.

Manet’s Olympia and Luncheon on the Grass would not have been so scandalous if the public were used to seeing sexual art work, though. Paintings of goddesses and Greek mythology (and biblical stories, for that matter) were always acceptable ways to paint nudes, but modernist paintings of everyday women and prostitutes

Having had to read multiple papers about that ugly painting, it’s my understanding that it demonstrates a fear of sex and a grudge against women (he blamed them for contracting VD). The one is wearing an African sickness mask, which could just be a remnant of his “primitive” works, or a way to portray that she is ill.

Same. I’m a painting major myself. I have a studio full of nudes, and I still paint the nude often, and I’m tired of people thinking it has anything to do with sex, as opposed to an academic exploration of anatomy.

What about him? He was a womanizer, for sure, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say that he painted nudes because he was horny. He took his work and his competition with Matisse far too seriously to paint something simply because he fancied naked women. He also painted plenty of male nudes, too.

A better counterpoint

Two things: Da Vinci was pretty gay, and artists don’t paint nudes because they’re horny or prefer people with their clothes off. Although I’m sure that was the reason for some artists, it’s certainly not why figure painting is a tradition for students and masters alike.

eta: yes, both points are super nitpicky. I

Tom Llamas reads the rules in Monopoly half way through the game.

So you think people that could not afford to prepare and buy supplies in advance, and who did not have the resources to evacuate, deserve to die. That’s a statement, not a question: you think poor people should starve to death.

It is if you think the answer to the issue is to permanently adjust your behavior to avoid being victimized. People like to take sexy photos. And they should be able to do so without being shamed and blamed if they’re hacked.

It’s easier to not carry a wallet than to get others to not steal. It’s easier to not drive a car than to get others to not steal. It’s easier to live in a tent with no personal belongings whatsoever than to get others to not steal.

There are risks involved in every little thing we do, but when someone breaks into our

Counter-argument: do photograph yourself nude, if you so please.

Stop trying to police women’s choices, their bodies, and their sexualities. No one deserves this. It is literally a fucking crime. But here you are blaming the victim. Shame on you.

I’ve been cooking more than I ever have before. My fridge is full of leftovers, ranging from the awesome coconut curry I made today to the failed pie that will probably get thrown away because I can’t bake to save my life.

It’s a good distraction. Both the cooking and the eating and the drinking that inevitably comes

To prevent us from doing it ourselves, and also because doing it quietly at night prevented the neo-nazis and confederate sympathizers from having the chance to organize and protest it.

I honestly cannot believe how many conservatives are offended by our calling these people Nazis. They’ve been calling us “feminazis” for years, but they’re suddenly so fucking offended by the word.
