Consider the very solid reality that your tastes in movies have changed and that QT has not. His movies have always been as exploitative and violent as they are now. This isn’t a fault of QT, just a feature of growing up and getting different tastes in cinema.

Thank god I’m not the only one. I mean.. I watched it like 2o years ago, but I feel like I’d remember a main supporting character. How did I miss this? What the hell was I doing? I remember two of the female pilots and Shinji... and the dad. and the woman that was helping shinji at the beginning? That’s about it.

I mean, it’s not something I haven’t played. It’s just been a real long time. So I guess somewhere between Casual and Try-hard skill level. I suppose it’s a sweet spot because the game is offering enough of a challenge to make Normal difficulty really exciting.

I’m also really curious if the higher difficulty levels…

4E needed liberal usage of Minion enemies. Which was one of the best types of creatures that Edition came up with. Glass cannons that offered a challenge but didn’t eat up a lot of time. The combat needed a _really_ mindful GM though otherwise, yeah... Bloat city.

Who are these magical people beating Bosses without breaking a sweat??? I’ve died multiple times to each boss thus far. O_o Are they just grinding till they are so over leveled or something?? I really don’t get it.

DND combat at 5th Edition shouldn’t last more than like... 4 rounds. At best. I find it really hard to get my players beyond that point and that’s either to murdering everything or making sure the combat wraps up quickly.

Our table has been using the Mearl’s Happy Fun Hour version he put out and .. god almighty. It’s like having a ranged Paladin at the table. Kinda neat really. Needs some trimming in terms of exploit dice, but it does put the RANGE back into the Ranger :)
