Stolen car (according to the police who failed to catch them) ran a red taking a right turn, proceeded to use all 3 lanes to turn causing traffic to slam on brakes and swerve, I hit the white line on the median, slowed down, checked to my side to ensure it was safe to get back in the road, and the car in front of me…
So a quick update:
Picture is an old parts truck I had circa 2009
Or, did the really take you that long to shove a paper clip in your clutch?
This is actually a few month old picture, and the car has NOT moved since. House, other car(s), kiddo, and a few other things have gotten in the way, now I’m like 2 projects away from literally just swapping the starter on this so I can drive it!
I have been watching Vikings and gravity falls so i missed the earlier ones, let’s break this down
MR2 is still broke, so there’s that, but I now have 3 vehicles and therein lies my dilemma. Quick rundown.
“No termites here” says the termite inspection
This is the 4th time I’ve replaced the fusable link in this damn car, and now it STILL won’t start. I can push start it again, and my battery doesn’t drain in 45 minutes, but yeah, this sucks. Maybe now I can test the immobilizer ecu and hopefully bypass the damn thing. I just want a hidden kill switch instead, then…
First up, my baby. 1993 MR2 Turbo:
Drunk driver this morning crashed into the collision repair center (Driving the Lexus) and pushed what looks like the shop van into the front door. I saw the aftermath this morning and my first thought was Pokemon go while driving. The irony of someone crashing into the collision center isn’t lost on me.
Departing from my norm of just posting a ton of awesome MR2's, I’m gonna bitch about mine. I mean, I’ll post pictures of MR2's, but words will be said.
Finally found a set of crossbars!FINALLY! I’ve been looking for a set since I bought the car. I also found a hatch a few weeks back and got that on this weekend too. Never had any of this before. First Yakima rack, never switched a hatch or anything, so a learning experience if you will.
More problems continue to arise. The A/C belt I added finished off the doomed tensioner pulley I was unaware of. New part from Subaru? $40. Easy day. The old part has some good carnage though!
Pretty please? He’s one of us! User handle is Scimitar7 and he drives this bitchin’ thing around when it works:
Details later once I’ve gotten plates, insurance, and picked up a few parts for it I have lined up. Quick specs are:
I know, I know. What am I doing posting when it’s not #MR2'sday? Well... My car broke again. It does this from time to time being a at some points questionably modified car. This time it was the fusable link (again, actually) that meant I was going to leave the car at work for two days while I found the correct parts…
I also got my first tattoos! That are a pair of nautical sparrows, and stand for the miles I’ve traveled on a ship. I had one done in a watercolor style, and the other done in the traditional sailor Jerry style, both in Rota, Spain.
^IIRC this is owned by the guy who actually designed the SW20 Mr2
In spain anyways, post mr2s.
