“Video game workers being able to create and join a union would help kill this practice and also provide them with healthier work environments and better pay.

“...there is a low-grade level of abusive behavior that we not only excuse in rock stars, we expect it. It’s utterly normalized. There are so many guys in rock like this.”

I know at the theater where I worked for 14 years, we used a liquid oil that was pumped into the kettle. I believe it was safflower oil with Beta Carotine added as a preservative. We also used anhydrous butter, which is very similar to ghee. And Flavacol.

I don’t make those kinds of jokes. Not with my spouse or kids around, or with my buddies. They aren’t funny, so I don’t.

As a middle-aged man who has seen the changes in the workplace over the last 30+ years and been supportive of them, I was completely with you right up until the castration remark.

Speaking as a middle-aged white man, I’m trying to figure out who at CBS missed this. Even I’m not that tone-deaf in the era of Black Lives Matter to miss this.

No back-up beeps? That seems like it would be even more important on this very quiet vehicle than a standard diesel semi.

There are clues in the three stories. Enough to tell the exact theatre.

Honestly, I haven’t been quite so chill with every incident. One stands out as scaring me the most.

Technically, if you want to go to a haunted movie theatre, all you need to do is pick one that’s been open for a year or so and go. You’ll never be alone in an empty theatre. I’ve heard enough stories from projectionists from other theatres that I believe that they’re all haunted.

I’ve been to a few notable “haunted” places in my life: The Winchester Mystery House, the USS Hornet, the St. Augustine Lighthouse, but probably the most haunted place I’ve ever been was the movie theatre I worked at for nearly 15 years. It’s a fairly new (and VERY popular —top 20 nationally) theatre in the same town

Mine are similar to yours, but frequently accompanied by crushing nausea. I’m not certain why, but as I get older the frequency has dropped dramatically. What once was a 1-3 time a week occurrence is now an annual event. And I'm not taking any prescriptions for it.

This might actually not be the worst showing I’ve heard of. When I was working at one of the busiest theaters in the Bay Area, we had a movie unexpectedly dumped at the office. Knock-and-run. I found the cans outside the office door. I had never heard of the title, and checked the heads of the reels to see if the cans

Yes, but when called on it, they are supposed to reply “fake news” and the media is supposed to drop the subject, even if their opponent keeps going with it.

We you sure it isn’t a station wagon?

Actually, I have (am now), and both of my parents were local union presidents at one point. My stepfather was a union representative before he retired.

I don’t want a revolution in the U.S. as most people understand it. The vast majority of the time a revolutionary war is about choosing a dictator. I want a revolution in thought and in government.

If local media must be sold off, I would rather see it bought by local unions.

That’s great. Just don’t put them in a down-facing fixture with bad air circulation. LED bulbs hate the heat build-up in those. I stopped putting any LED bulbs by any brand in my ceiling fan, or bathroom fixtures after having over a half-dozen bulbs by three companies fail in a year.
