I prefered the previous generation, boxyness and all. They were surprisingly decent handling with the sport suspension.

What are you talking about? “ space for regen brakes on that hub” There is no such thing as regen brakes that fit in a wheel hub. This car has two motors connected to the wheels through half shafts and a differential/gear box.  It doesn’t have hub motors. 

Aerodynamics does not favor a crossover and if they wanted to take the longest-range crown, they needed to push for as much aero as possible.
