Remember when the cops were told not to go into the building where the electricity didn’t work, and they did anyway, and then they started randomly shooting because they were scared of the dark?  

I might say that “ex-military” is at least some sort of qualification, but I don’t believe that cops are “typically” from the military.  I don’t have any statistics to show, but that just doesn’t pass the smell test.  The vast majority have no qualifications at all.

No, the onus is still on us. We shouldn’t be saying, “Efficient technology doesn’t exist yet, so I guess I’ll fly cross-country and back each week.” It’s up to us to change our habits.

Stop giving Iowans that excuse. The district is not “heavily gerrymandered.” It’s not a trick or a scheme. All of the nation’s heavy gerrymandering happens outside of Iowa, and Iowa’s map mostly follows county boundaries and the wishes of the electorate.
