Are they banning books that teach Korean? No, this isn’t about messaging. It’s about holding people back so that they are punished as much as possible.

The depopulation thing is a myth. There’s no clear maximum number of humans. The issue is lifestyle - we can’t expect a future with 9 billion humans living like millionaires in Beverly Hills. There certainly isn’t enough water for that many golf courses and sprinkler systems.

I hope someday we learn to speak dolphin. In the mean time, we’ll have to practice through experiments like this.

Kavanaugh isn’t more passionate than the rest of them.  There is no “of all people” at play here.  Kavanaugh received this task as homework.  That’s how the court operates.

No, this is not surprising at all. The chief justice (when in the majority, like this time) assigns someone to write the opinion. Roberts gave Kavanaugh a 7-2 decision that most of America will also agree with. That’s the perfect assignment for a newbie. Also, Kavanaugh was told to write this one so that the other

...said no one. You’re rejecting a widespread sentiment by turning it into a strawman.

No, they are forcing themselves in. They pay higher amounts to get booth space under the bigger tents on the better streets. They are increasing the market price of that space so much that fewer non-profits can participate. The corporations are also attaching riders to their contracts. Companies are refusing to have

Well... we’re also the same country that once said Rwandans didn’t experience genocide, and we still say Armenians didn’t.  We like to pretend the Holocaust was unique.

This was a fascinating, if infuriating, read. Can you write a follow-up article about treatments for depression? You owe us. :(

Jenny McCarthy describes the time she saw the light go out of her son’s eyes and he became empty inside. She sounds like a total bitch who has absolutely no place being a mom. When I read stories like this, I just want CPS to snatch all the kids and give them to decent adults.

We have access to knowledge, but we still have to filter and analyze it.  People have smartphones but not critical thinking skills.

How are crowding and disease “modern” problems? All organisms experience these things. Koalas are dying from diseases right now. Groves of trees are more susceptible to fungal disease. This isn’t a “modern” thing or even a human thing. You’re just describing the foundation of biology.

What’s 4+4-4?

Things built by people, that will only last a few years, can get disposable names. I chuckle at the innocent silliness of Boaty McBoatface.

“The Dream” is amazing. They were my first introduction to the Christian bag industry (?!), and just after I listened to the final episode, my cousin started selling them.  :(

Republicans are aware that Native Americans were here first, but white people get to replace them because white people “won” by murdering them. It was a series of “fair” “wars.” That’s literally the rhetoric. In contrast, the people showing up at the border today aren’t declaring war and aren’t winning anything, so

If you don’t download my music, it’s basically like you beat me, tied me to a fence, and left me for days to slowly die.” Her immature perspective is offensive.

Wiener is anti-wiener. Years ago, he advanced a law that banned nudity in one of the last major cities that allowed it (SF), all while promising that there would later be exceptions for major festivals (pride, carnaval) and some beaches. His supporters really stressed those promises. The law passed. Of course, he

Public exposure, public indecency/lewdness... the list goes on. If you can prosecute a man for urinating behind a tree, then you can prosecute him for pleasuring himself in the open.

How do you reconcile that with the case law that says corporations have religious beliefs? The corporate entity believes in a god or gods. The abstract thing of the company somehow reads the Bible or another book.  So if a gay person wants to hail a cab or reserve a hotel room, the corporation can say no.  That’s the
