Okkervil River is the only recent one that comes to mind, but Will Sheff's good enough to make up for the whole genre.

Yeah, I mostly stick to beer or scotch, but that was what was at hand. Also there was a lot of weed involved, as is usually the case in my life.
As someone who has been called a f@g far too many times, I can empathize. I think more people would hear Kanye's music and message if he just shut up.
Yeah, hip-hop is full of some absurd shit which is both why I love the music but still have a hard time recommending it to other people without feeling silly and white while saying some of the song titles. Still, Danny Brown's "Monopoly" is up their on my most played-list.
And he calls himself "yeezy", which really just speaks for itself.
Every time I think about giving into all the people who insist I'd like Kanye's music, the man opens his mouth.
The only part I felt was really weak was Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique/Raven and that was mostly because of how fucking perfectly Rebecca Romijn captured the character, though I did find Lawrence's acting to be flat, as usual. It makes me surprised that so many hate it.
Taco Bell: donde la noche se va a morir
After all of the scarily racist backlash about casting Idris Elba as Heimdall, I thought it was absolutely hilarious that he openly and publicly hated the part without even addressing the race issue.
This reminds me of the time me and a couple of friends drank a bunch of Kraken and went through the Taco Bell drive through wearing plastic Batman masks and the lady was not amused and then I got a headache and had to go home.
That was a damn good trailer, plus Hiddleston was near nude so basically I have to watch this.
Yeah, pretty much. I always feel the need to over-complicate things, I suppose.
It was a reply, to a reply, to a reply so I can see how you'd get that. Disqus has a weird way of ordering things sometimes.
Uh, I never said that. This guy posted his art for free, willingly and I was indicating that he stood to gain from the media attention. And he did.
I dunno man, Watterson kind of takes the Alan Moore approach to his work in that he really doesn't seem to like it when someone other than him does anything with it. Watterson's made his disdain for the internet in general known in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if when he learned of this he did his usual thing of…
Those are two of my favorite all time episodes, though I have many. I have given up on trying to predict where Hammer/Publick are going with the show though, as no matter what I imagine they usually come up with something funnier and better.
When I posted my comment I kind of had the feeling it wouldn't be the most popular thing to say as this is a very well executed reference to both Calvin and Hobbes and Star Wars. On the other hand, Bill Watterson was something of a hero of mine growing up, and when I found out as a kid that he didn't want his art used…
I love Star Wars and Calvin and Hobbes, but we've been inundated with so much Star Wars referencing material of late that it seems everyone and quite literally their mother is finding a way to cash in on the Star Wars train by somehow referencing it in their art or blog, or column, or knitted shitty etsy doll that I…
What? No. Media attention is huge for artists, and to pretend otherwise, no matter how excellently sarcastic, is intellectually dishonest.
I KNOW!
