"I don't agree with a lot of what the NSA did, but by most (if not all) accounts nothing they did was illegal."
Uh, what? Have you never heard of the 4th and 5th Amendments to the United States Constitution??? I just can't believe anyone is so ignorant to be spouting the crap you're spouting.

You're a troll. And a severely ignorant idiot.

Silly you, stop being reasonable and conciliatory. This is the internet, after all.

Agreed. Another thing I liked about "Rudderless" is that you could (well, I did, anyway) read some ambiguity into the repeated lyric "hope in my past." I'm not disputing that's what Dando sings, but even listening closely it sounds like he sometimes says "hope it might pass," which still fits the song and mood.

Man this record brings back great memories. I suppose this is hopelessly subjective, not to mention somewhat archaic in this age of downloading the digital single, but I'd argue that "It's a Shame About Ray," "Rudderless," and "Drug Buddy" are among the greatest three-song sequences ever to appear on any album, ever.
