It upsets me to no end that no matter how shitty men are, how impolite, how rude, we are supposed to be meek and calm and ask them nicely to stop.
Because that is what we do now. We can’t let people do anything good in this world without sifting through their past to find a reason to vilify them.
Asking women to stop their misogyny (which is often a tactic to ingratiate themselves to the oppressors) instead of asking men to stop their misogyny gets it backwards. Women wouldn’t need to be misogynistic if men didn’t hate women. I will defend every woman against gendered attacks because it defends us all.
If it pales in comparison to the problems actual minorities face then you should have an easy time ignoring this pretty relaxed jab at the patriarchy which isn’t about you specifically. Happy Turkey Day.
