It’s 2019, most of our shafts are fully ironic by now.

Richard Roundtree again returns to play Jackson’s father, the original Shaft

Yeah, reading this review, it felt like this was one of the few times when I actually thought that should I be offended by this as a man. It is always a weird hesitation.

hur hur all men think about is sex hur hur

that sort of shit’s not offensive and cliched, or anything

Speaking as the scapegoat for a family of narcissists, I for one would find it hilarious if, just once in these films, the twist was that the adults were unreliable narrators, and the kid was just defending himself from abuse. It’d be a grim, The Metamorphosis-esque take on the genre, but it’d make a lot more sense

My gal is from a South American country. She’s also a linguist. I know better than to bring up the term “Latinx” around her.

Come on, person! Get with the program. No one can pass up an opportunity to use the word “latinx.” It combines two things that everyone loves: identity politics and the letter “x.”

I still prefer it to The Compuserve

I know some cougars that are into being suffocated. Hey, it’s not my thing but they pay me well.

I’m just posting this because it’s one of my favorite screen wallpapers, who knows where I got it, and I figure you all would like it too.

I saw Men In Black 2 three fucking times in the theater.

Like everyone else, it’s just announcing its intent to run in 2020.

But everything is a reboot now, no matter what! Even obvious, straight-out sequels and what they used to just call remakes have to be called reboots, there are no other terms for new versions of things anymore!

I nominate ZMF. Although I’m not sure how many people here remember him.

The cast of Married with Children will finally get the recognition they deserve for being willy nilly Hall of Fame worthy Americans.

What is interesting about Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ inclusion is that he not only is a subject of a bust, but was the artist of two other of the busts, that of Abraham Lincoln and General Sherman. Sadly, neither Lincoln nor Sherman were around to do Saint-Gauden’s bust to return the favor.

That explains how he knew a duke when he saw one.
