Books and films go out of print all the time and are no longer ‘legally accessible’ in a way comparable to games disappearing from the Nintendo eShop. That’s a very different thing from the preservation of art, something I am very much a supporter of.

Pokemon games are the LAST titles I’m worried about going away forever. They will DEFINITELY get digital re-releases at some point, probably many times over. There are thousands of other games that will never be available for sale again.

Yeah I don’t understand the point of a remake of The Room. The appeal of the original is its lack of self-awareness.  So what’s accomplished by remaking it with a wink?  ‘Gee, isn’t this movie bad?’  Yes, we know it’s bad, that’s the entire reason we watched it in the first place.

This guy has a real ‘lectures you about eating meat two days after going vegetarian’ vibe to him.

I somehow missed this during the game, but made up for it by watching it 10 times in a row just now.

take your damn star.

I’m just glad AV Club sniffed this out from the beginning. Outlets like CNN and New York Times took the bait hard and were uncritically reporting that M&Ms was making the change.

Wait till the stories come out about Giancarlo Esposito’s international meth empire

AV Club never passes up an opportunity to be a moral scold. I’d bet anything the same writer wringing their hands over this would tell you they’re sex worker positive.

That’s right. Those people were idiots to make their predictions prematurely instead of waiting until now, when predictions can be made with full certainty.

At least Harry Styles is an actual 2023 mega-star. Beck’s win was the latest in a long tradition of the Grammys honoring aging rockers 20 years outside their primes for albums no one cared about.

It’s always been a surprise to me that more wrestlers don’t make the transition to acting. There’s always a demand for musclebound heavies in Hollywood, and pro wrestling is essentially a mix of character acting and stunt performance - seems like a natural fit.  I suppose the biggest difference is that wrestling is a

Yeah, if he’s talking about a mid-game bathroom break, (vs. some kind of draconian rule banning bathroom breaks during the entire tournament) then I’m not sure what the solution should be.

I always thought Night Court and Newsradio had a lot of similarities - both workplace sitcoms, both had absolutely loaded casts, more focused on zany antics than heartfelt stories (though Night Court could lay it on at times). Both had devoted fans but were never the most popular comedy on their network, both hung on

Okay, I finally watched the trailer, and the most accurate moment is the trench-coat-wearing flasher followed by the bailiff declaring “That’s Night Court, baby!”  The original Night Court never passed up on a flasher gag.

Season 1 of Night Court got a proper DVD release, but that’s it - probably because Season 1 sucked and half the cast was different so no one bought it. It was doomed from the start.

Local TV stations would air a LOT of sitcom reruns back then.  It was the predominant time filler of the era.

Night Court was actually pretty popular in syndication at one point - I used to watch an hour of it almost every night. But once the big 90's shows like Seinfeld, Friends, and The Simpsons hit syndication, it disappeared quickly.

I’m completely flummoxed by this part - who could possibly care? Do these people see a kid eating at a T.G.I. Friday’s and clutch their pearls in shock?  Have these people ever been to a Dave & Buster’s?

Tailwind is a Gen 4 move, so Murkrow hasn’t had it from the jump.  Pedanticism aside, it’s wild how obscure Pokemon can end up meta-viable due to odd little combo abilities.  I can’t even begin to express how useless Murkrow was in Gen 2, or before Honchkrow appeared.
