Actraiser was an amazing example of that early 90's game design approach of “let’s just take two genres, smash them together, and see what happens”.  Some incredible experiments from that era.

Crystalis, Clash At Demonhead, and Faxanadu are my holy trinity of NES games that should have gotten a 16-bit sequel.

Man, I would love for a real Dragonlance adaptation to finally happen. That animated movie with Kiefer Sutherland as Raistlin was godawful.

Now playing

This list should include a track from Sonia Leigh, who’s like a young Amy Ray. Unfortunately the album I know (1978 December) isn’t on Spotify, but here’s “Ain’t Dead Yet”

I could only get through the first three before I could no longer stand to see the blood-smearing part

I think about that Baffler piece all the time.  When it came out I was working at a radio station that included a conservative talk station and I heard all those sleazy scam ads that would run during their shows.

For whatever reason, while reading this all I could hear in my head was that woman from the DiGiorno commercial singing “Pan Pan Pan PAAAAAAAN!”

My favorite thing about the video is how it’s almost... subtle? Like it was *just* AOC. They didn’t run through alist of the typical left-wing baddies like Hillary, Obama, Pelosi, etc. one after another. It was just Kim, AOC, Castro. Whoever made the video DEFINITELY meant it as a Trojan horse for just this type of

So am I allowed to listen to Sublime or not?  The article isn’t clear and I want to make sure I’m legally protected against Pitchfork

This is the REAL reason for the delay. They can spin it as extra time to ‘get it right’, but what really happened was the studio realized they have a bomb on their hands and decided “no way are we wasting a Thanksgiving release on this stinker. Dump it off in February.”

These motherfuckers better not mess with my ability to UberEats three Sausage McMuffins and a large fries at exactly 10:31 am. Pretty sure that’s my right as an American.

I don’t know, TV contracts are a HUUUUUGE part of WWE’s bottom line. The most recent Smackdown deal with Fox was what, a billion dollars? And the Raw deal was for just as much or slightly more. Obviously that’s not NFL or NBA money, but it’s also a LOT. Not to mention that being on TV is what gets your T-shirts

I’m aware of how wrestling worked in the territory days. But would that work today? The territories died out. Some people think Vince killed them off by going national, but I think it’s just as likely that wrestling would have just slowly died off without Vince’s WWF.

Thank you.  The Pelicans might be a clown show, but Zion going there is 10,000 times better than the freaking Cavaliers getting handed another #1 pick.

I’m very, very interested to see what AEW has to offer and how big a bite it can take out of WWE. But I’m skeptical that a more ‘sports-like’ atmosphere is what wrestling needs. To me, pro wrestling is best when it leans in to the absurdity of its comic-book universe. A return to straitlaced 70's-style ‘fake sports’

I’ll admit this is a bitter Sixers fan talking, but I’m ready for Deadspin to get over their Process grudge already. For cripe’s sake, the league stepped in and forced the Sixers to hire a new GM! Who sucked! They’ve botched every post-Hinkie decision, in part because *the league forced them to change leadership*! That

Yeah I suddenly got really sad realizing that cutting the MJ episode means that song is cancelled

To think the Jets could have fielded this breathtaking trio of Robby Anderson, Le’Veon Bell, and a random practice squad player. Drink with me, to days gone by.

Because Kellyanne Conway knows full well that Trump is full of shit. I’m completely convinced of that. She’s fully aware of how absurd this whole thing is. I bet she and George rip on Trump all the time at home.

The whole thing struck me as very performative, especially with lines like this from the Sprudge article: “Semanchin goes on to make clear that the company isn’t seeking any labor, emotional or physical, from the Kickapoo Nation: “we know this is our problem not [theirs].” It feels like the fine folks at (not)
