Megalon, oi!
Megalon, oi!
Again, it’s all about having the right attitude and perspective. I mean, we could be the fandom complaining about having TOO much. (Looking at you, Star Wars.)
Very minor spoilers, but I’d suggest not reading it if you want to go in fresh. TLDR for his review: monster action is fun, but the positives with the humans from the first film would have made this movie even better.
To be fair, I’d wager there are some valid critiques out there regarding the human story-lines (I mean, there are more Godzilla movies that sucked in this regard than not), and I skimmed through James’s to avoid spoilers, but the irony is hilarious, to say the least.
Yeah, I don’t know why anyone did that, to be honest. I mean, is Endgame an objectively better movie? Not sure, haven’t seen KOTM yet. But they are two completely different situations. There’s no way the hype would even be close. No freaking way. Godzilla has never had the amount of love and adoration in our society…
.....narp?
Dr. Tran, with the proper diagnosis.
As someone who frequents r/Godzilla, people have been freaking out over how the critics are going to react, largely because the fear is if critics don’t like it, then the GA won’t go to see it, and then we won’t have more films.
What can he say? It’s his destiny.
I’m confident I will!
Will do! It's been torture knowing the soundtrack is there for me to listen, and yet I have decided to wait.
I wasn’t intimately familiar with his work before KOTM, but I definitely would agree with you. It’s definitely not a typical American soundtrack, thank Goji.
RIGHT?! I’ve only allowed myself to listen to the four themes, and Mothra’s is the best, hands down. Rodan’s is a close second.
Brian, as a huge Godzilla fan, thank you so much for this. Reading this while listening to the new soundtrack was a delight. I have no shame in being an adult and still loving these films wholeheartedly. What an experience, I’m sure!
It’s just you.
I’ve been to this BWW. Can’t confirm the racism, but their service overall is horrible. As a (former) Doordash driver, the waits I had there were unbearable, and the management staff is clearly apathetic at best. All of this to say? Not a big ****ing surprise whatsoever, even if it is depressing as hell.
Only acceptable comment.
Well, now I can’t get this image out of my head.
Don’t we all.
As a huge Godzilla fan, this interview made my day. No hyperbole at all. It’s been a rough one, so thank you so much.
