I know what you mean. I do take some solace in the fact that only 25% of the US self-identifies as Republican, which is a new low according to Gallup. People like Trump - and his stunt candidacy - are one reason why the conservative brand is doomed to grow ever smaller.

I haven't followed this too closely, but wasn't this all started because the producer - apparently - failed to procure a steak dinner for Clarkson? That was early reporting, but does anyone know if that minor issue actually instigated the fight in the first place?
Seems almost too perfectly diva-ish of Clarkson.

A little off topic, but I feel that if the AV Club is going to link to a Salon article, they ought to at least remind readers that Salon was a once decent website that now deals in tabloid-style smear jobs and appears to have zero journalistic integrity. Salon's recent hatchet job on Jason Alexander (complete with

The set of 'Wheels Ontario' was a non-stop orgy of maple syrup.

Yup - very true - really he does seem like a decent guy. Also, (this is a bit of a non-sequitur) but in my mind the people that stood up against a war based on lies, falsified intelligence information, idiotic propaganda, etc. are MUCH more 'pro-troop' than the people that had no problem sending them over there based

I think the differing expressions offered up by the actors in the header image kinda' gives the game away… She's panics-ville, he's all "I got this" with a good bit of determination, and the kids…? Not freaked out at all.

This a pretty timid avclub post - afraid we can't handle some venom because we're talking about an adolescent here? Don't worry, we can handle it.

The first article I read about this 'amazing' script, stated that it answered 'the biggest controversy' surrounding Star Wars (or words to that effect). And I was thinking the biggest controversy was surely 'what a piss-poor director Lucas was, and just how much his team thankfully rescued Star Wars and saved the

Was thinking the same thing… This statement needs a few examples (at least) to provide context and a reference point. Instead the author references the 'concept' of a woman who stands by her man as an example of this (huh?) and then later praises the dialogue of the film (double huh?).

The Counselor…? I didn't even know he did that! It was sooooo bad. I mean, 34% is incredibly generous. I had just assumed it was some film school hack who got lucky with financing and had connections in the biz…

Reportedly, Walmart's low wages cost US tax payers approx. $6.2 billion per year in government assistance programs, such as food stamps, etc. So - yes - we are paying taxes so that they can under-pay their employees and thusly increase shareholder value. Gotta love corporate-welfare, American style!

The local news here in Denver ran a small item about a 19 year-old kid returning from an aborted attempt to climb Everest, in the wake of the earthquake. All I could think: 19 years-old! That kid is either incredibly experienced for his age and massively strong, or there is something horrifically wrong with the

The Honest Trailers rip on Jupiter Ascending makes a lot of these points. I'm glad a few people enjoyed the flick, but I'm amazed something so (apparently) amateurish could get financed, produced, etc. https://www.youtube.com/wat…

"…films that aren’t satisfying, but manage to acquit themselves on ambition alone." Next time I'm at a cocktail party and talking movies with a guy wearing a black turtleneck sweater, I'm somehow using that line.

Yup. I think the editing on that scene is what makes it so good. Anyway, there are a few others of us out there who share your enthusiasm, although we are generally a quiet group that keep to the shadows.

A one hour photo shoot (or what-ev's) and your lead picture is a guy flippin' a double bird at his audience while sporting a sly smile. It really all came together, didn't it?

It seems strange to us 'normals'. But - I'm just guessing, here - when John Matrix is your dad that sort of thing probably happens once a week.

I laughed…!

There's a difference between 'bunk' and trash… Adam Sandler makes trash. This is just (apparently) a general waste of everyone's time and effort.

Hmmm. Gay Raines… Pain and Gain? Its a subversive comment on the Affordable Care Act extending coverage to same-sex partners!
