I’ve been freed!
I’ve been freed!
I actually stopped playing World of Warcraft this week, not because I don’t still enjoy it, but because it was literally causing my computer to overheat (California’s been going through an absurd heat wave, you see, and I have no AC. Alas and alack). I have been replaying Saints Row IV, though, and just soaking in its…
This week, I dropped a review of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, the new totally weird but totally pretty good…
More Breath of the Wild, if I can find the time. I pre-ordered Mario Odyssey as well. I’m happy with the Switch. I’d be happier if it had a proper virtual console. Content seems to be lacking at the moment.
Politics Corner - Briefly Taking a Step Back from Politics edition. The Top Story is Hurricane Harvey. Natural disasters always have a serious political component - hurricanes Katrina and Sandy showed that - but I want to step beyond the Trumposphere for a moment to recognize the ongoing catastrophe that Hurricane…
Yeah, the drive to Peach’s castle was a really fun secret. It’s used for the ending ceremony, so I wonder if that might be why you can drive on it...
I agree with Mount Wario. It’s so unique and just a fun course overall.
We used to play 4 player Double Dash at family events and it was just 9 lap Baby Park races. Easy course so everyone could be competitive, and it was just mayhem with all the shit that would end up on the track.
YES. More non-lap-based tracks please.
That’s how you pick out the sadists.
That’s the one for me. The music is perfect, the background charming, and as my first rainbow road (I admit my opinion is colored entirely by nostalgia) it was just the right kind of everything for a ten year old to cruise around. I think I never noticed how long it was back then. And the remake for Wii U / Switch…
The original version of Toad’s Turnpike was a personal favorite. Weaving around giant, oblivious traffic always seemed to keep the race competitive, especially at 150ccs. You had to be a lot more judicious with your red shells too, as they couldn’t travel too far forward without plinking harmlessly off a semi. And of…
It’s also really tricky. There are so many parts that you have to account for it makes winning there really fun but challenging.
Rainbow Road is the only correct answer. It separates the wolves from the sheep.
I just want to read about Jeopardy :(
I like almost every track in Mario Kart 8 - the only one I’ve really played extensively - but I have to go with Mount Wario. It has virtually everything for me: a beautiful, snowy backdrop, a constant shift of environments from mountaintop to cave to forest to ski slope, and a crazy design unlike all the game’s other…
Pfft, she didn’t have that harrowing of a journey. Trying to get my Disqus account linked to Kinja, now that’s harrowing. Frankly, my ordeal makes what she went through seem like a trip to the cupcake factory.*
*This is possibly a slight overstatement.
Hideo Kojima is the legendary game designer who created the long-running and absolutely insane Metal Gear series.…
