Thank you! As well-made and chilling as this PSA is, it won’t solve the issue. As a Brit, it’s kinda terrifying to think about the logic behind this video. Someone commented downthread about the Instagram pic not setting them off because posing with guns is so common- what the actual fuck? This shouldn’t be normal.

I say this every time but here I go again-

Please please please stop linking to the Daily Mail. They are anti-immigration, sexist, racist monsters causing huge problems in our society. Every click you send their way does more damage. I am disappointed to see this from a progressive site like Jezebel. https://m.facebook.com/stopfundinghate

Be better if they paid their taxes.

And the class connotations of wearing the right kind of make up in the right way. It’s a minefield.

He also pissed off the entire British government by suggesting Farage as an ambassador on Twitter today. Everyone here is horrified at the cheek of it!

I’ve tried everything to get them to pledge to stop funding these publications. I’ve emailed them. I’ve commented repeatedly. No one will respond. Really saddened, given their call to action following the election.

Really disappointed Jezebel continues to link back to the daily mail. Please look at the Stop funding hate campaign and consider using less unethical sources. They are completely against the pro-diversity, immigrant friendly approach you are praising the Hamilton cast for.

He isn’t on the streets though, he never leaves the embassy, so technically speaking he isn’t on British soil.

I love the Guardian over here in the UK. There’s also a campaign to pressure companies not to buy ad space in papers that spread hate, to make those editorial positions less profitable. It’s called Stop funding hate and is well worth looking at.

The Sun is stuck in 1985. The Stop Funding Hate campaign is asking advertisers to stop buying space in the Sun, the Daily Mail and the Express, because they spread hateful, misogynistic, racist and homophobic views, particularly here in the UK. I’ve really been inspired by Jezebel’s call to action following the

Please get me out of the greys for this!

Big hero six :)

Thanks for the recommendation. I am actually doing my PhD in this area.

I taught special ed kids who would write like this aged 14.

Last time I checked feminism meant believing in the equality of the sexes, not necessarily being an activist.

It’s a secret ballot and she is in no way obliged to reveal her vote. Maybe she, like many other people, didn’t feel comfortable endorsing either candidate. Or maybe she felt as a pop singer it wasn’t her place to comment on politics. Or indeed, perhaps she thought her endorsement might do more harm than good. There’s

Oh. In Britain we wouldn’t see that as any more low brow than Katy Perry! It’s not like either of them is a classical conductor or opera singer.

what do you mean?

I’m not a Taylor stan either, but I find the attitude to her a bit disheartening. Katy Perry (who out-earned Taylor last year) gives $10k to PP and is a hero. Taylor gave $1million to flood relief, but she’s probably a bitch, right? :/ also, innocent until proven guilty. There’s zero evidence she supports Trump.
