Had the same problem. Disconnect from sync on your desktop browser, clear the data on the Android Chrome, reconnect on your desktop browser and finally open the Android Chrome. Worked for me. Others are reporting the same issue.

Wholeheartedly agree! Having owned a HTC Desire and loving it, I get annoyed trying to look for a replacement from HTC. So many choices, each with some features I would like in the other. I preferred when the Desire was the best phone from them for the better part of 2010.
