better yet, just give us all about two weeks warning and you can get away with only invading about half the states! all of the people who want to live in Canada and enjoy the benefits can start heading to the north, upper midwest or pacific coast - then we can leave the old Confederacy to chuckleheads like Trump and

yeah… except for how the news industry has been getting more and more consolidated and centralized for decades now.

because while it pisses me off that we as a country have a crap voting turnout -and- we DON'T have enough principled legislators to give us a federal voting holiday, the simple fact of the matter is that there is only one side of the political divide which is systematically working to disenfranchise people from

we can say "fuck" without playing typography games. i mean, censor yourself if you want but the word is used multiple times in the fuckin' article we're commenting on, for crissakes.

every once in a while, you used to hear some right-wing crank in Texas, Florida or even North Carolina get their wind up about states rights and all their other standard horseshit, eventually working up to some fever dream about secession and the glorious future they would enjoy in their Randian paradise.

because… the internet?

Yaphet Kotto's character said it on HOMICIDE once, back before that show went completely off the rails.

i can see living above that bar going either way - it was probably pretty awesome sometimes but i can imagine just as many nights when you probably just wanted to tell all the drunks downstairs to shut the fuck up. maybe that's just me, tho… still, being within walking distance of all the kick-ass joints on Willy

well, if this discussion has demonstrated anything, it's that reasonable people really can disagree amicably. you're cool with me, man or woman on the internet.

seriously? how central were you? i grew up in rural Manitowoc (the Making of A Murderer-place), went to college at UWGB and, at the time described, was living in DeForest.

see, i don't really see H8tful as a Western - i see it as a straight-up homage to John Carpenter's THE THING, one of the finest horror movies ever made.

should be in those big Essential collections - they're B&W but i love 'em. (wiki says volume 2 collects The X-Men #120-144 and The X-Men Annual #3-4.)

i would personally go with the original Days of Future Past instead of Death of Phoenix but am right there with you on God Loves Man Kills.

see, i actually didn't have super high hopes for GOTG1 until the reviews started coming in, since i thought a lot of the songs they selected for the trailer were hacky, over-played bullshit (do-wah SHOCKA do-wah SHOCKA!) that had me rolling my eyes and thinking "Well, Marvel had to fuck one up eventually…"

i'm gonna flip this shit and tell you that i didn't think much of the trailer for Deadpool. never really cared for the character in comics and, to be honest, find most of the people who are SUPER INTO DEADPOOL!!! to be annoying as fuck. plus trailers are usually like the most entertaining 135 seconds of the movie

would one of those misty humidifier things work? something to get some moisture into your system… maybe a bunch of hot steamy showers? (get your mind out of the gutter!)

Electric Six is an awesome band to see live - enjoy 'em! i saw them about 15 years ago at a club in Madison where they were headliner of a four-band show, one of which was Junior Senior, right around when i'm told they had their big hit. (we spent the next day at an amusement park and i must have heard their song

i used to think like you, i'm ashamed to admit.

i don't know if it's still open, but if you can make your way to a place called At Random, check it out - i haven't been back in over a decade but had a blast. the place was this cavern-like time capsule locked on 1963 with a goddamned 3-ring binder of alcoholic milkshakes.

at this point, i think all but two or three of our high school D&D group has moved away from Wisconsin but a bunch of us got together and rented an AirBnB in New Glarus a couple years ago - met up in Madison to pick up the locals, hit Woodman's for provisions, then took in the brewery tour and spent the rest of the
