A few years ago I got into some trouble (completely non-violent). I knew I was going to be arrested. I contacted my lawyer and my lawyer conatced the detective in charge of the case. He discusssed things and my lawyer told him that when they were ready to charge me, I was more than willing to turn myself in. Fast

After Return of the Jedi, one single, populated planet was blown up.

That’s not what I'm talking about.

Pretty happy to see that this movie was just pieced together as it went along like fucking Suicide Squad instead of getting the proper attention that it deserved. Real great process here.

Eh. Anyone who boldly declares that any of the movies from the ST weren’t tragically flawed and disappointing is lying to themselves.

> One film annoyed many people because of conscious, purposeful decisions, whereas TROS has genuine mistakes and inconsistencies.

Plus Trek requires a lot more critical thinking and that's a pretty high hurdle for a lot of the assholes.

Now imagine having those feelings, but a more vocal group hates the movie for shitty mysoginistic and racist reasons. Those people suck hardcore, but if you dare speak a word of ill about the movie, you’re immediately lumped in with those shitbags.

My guess is that Abrams really didn’t care, because he was just going to be around for one movie.”

Exactly this. JJ had no actual plans for an overarching story, or how individual characters actually fit together. JJ just had a few ideas to keep people hooked with dumb mysteries that once you unpack, you don’t have

And there was really no need to do it here. He could have skipped the relationship and lose nothing. The Emperor tempting Rey, the only living Jedi, to the Dark Side and her, having lost so much fighting to control her anger would have worked just as well. The twist was just there because it’s a JJ movie.

Fuck no. But this perfectly illustrates how shitty his 'mystery box' philosophy is.

*********BREAKING NEWS*********

But. yeah. They are.

JJ doiesb ‘t plan ahead (he didn’t even know he would make Ep9 when he made TFA) Rey Palpatine is just a typical JJ Mystery Box. Shiny before you open it ans utterly uncreative in the end.

The interesting part is that the Palaptine lineage wins. All the Skywalkers are dead and Rey (who is a Palpatine) lives. What a great way to end your series.

I think they wanted to have her be related to someone. The “nobody” thing was always a red herring.

No. Because no one had any clue what the hell was going on. The trilogy should have been fleshed out early, with overall plot and character arcs derived long before production began. Instead, Kennedy screwed up from the jump. It’s fine having different directors (Lucas, Kershner and Marquand helmed Episodes 4, 5, 6,

“Sure, you kidnapped me, tortured me, murdered your own father, almost murdered your mother, tried to turn me to the dark side multiple times, helped destroy multiple worlds and murdered billions of people, all but destroyed the Resistance, and tried to kill my friends...but whatever! Smoochies!”

Same, plus I’m getting tired of seeing Jay-Z caping for the NFL. Oh, and its week 11 for the NFL. That means Eric Reid should be up to about 783 “random” drug tests this season.

I'm with Reid!
