I agree that the new She-Ra is great, the old one is just as bad as the old He-Man.
I’m looking at the numbers with distance through a wide lens. You’re looking at them through a narrow lens that fits your narrative. The proportional composition of a candidate’s support is less important than the absolute support that candidate has from a given community or voting bloc. Your interpretation is…
I don’t like her for a host of reasons, but her prosecutorial debate style is what made me think she had the best chances against Trump. But after the recent debates, I don’t know. She makes these great statements on the stage, and then rolls them back the next morning. I’m generally not a fan of the term “flip…
Nice attempt to massage the numbers, but according to recent polling Joe Biden is dominating among black and latin voters with 29% and 27% respectively. Among black women, Biden gets 43% of the vote. Harris is the only other candidate to get even 10% among blacks, while Sanders and Warren have 15% and 14% of the latin…
She has NEVER claimed to be a member of a tribe. She has NEVER received benefits or special consideration.
You are entitled to your heritage and your family history and your family trauma, even if you don’t have a certificate or membership in a tribe.
This is one of those “controversies” that demonstrates a stark divide between highly charged digital activists, and the average person on the ground living their life. My spouse is half native, and half of that is Cherokee. They were raised with a combination of pride and shame for their heritage. Their grandfather…
While the media could hypothetically make the first hit of a recession worse by inciting panic, they cannot summon one from thin air. Recessions are a natural part of capitalist economic growth. Periods of expansion followed by periods of contraction with the hope that the former is greater than the later.
I think he’s the perfect choice for this hyper nostalgic take on He-Man. This just isn’t a take on He-Man that I’m interested in.
Light in Minecraft doesn’t behave anything like real light, and has a significant gameplay role in how mobs spawn and behave among other things. It doesn’t look like this update/mod takes that into account at all, so how are players supposed to know if there home/ranch/village/mine is well lit enough to be safe?
It’s easy to say all that when there aren’t hundreds of armed nazis harassing your community with the tacit or explicit permission of local law enforcement.
How sure are you that those were not agent provocateurs?
I’m not the biggest fan of black-bloc protest tactics. In the Bush II era in San Francisco and Oakland, we would have these great peaceful protests and then some ass hats with balaclavas would show up and break some windows or throw shit at the cops and then that’s all the news would be about. Tens of thousands of…
There is no single “anti-fa” in the US, but there are many local anti-fascist activist groups in a number of cities like Portland that are besieged by neo-fascist and white supremacists. Knowing who they’re up against, the tend to promote a readiness for violence and self-defense.
The 2020 senate map is almost as tough for the Dems as the 2018 map was. Doug Jones is not keeping his seat unless the GOP puts up another pedophile (or the same one again), even then it’d be close. With the right candidates, the GOP could also put up a good fight in Virginia, New Hampshire and Michigan.
And yet Obama won the state twice, and 3 of their 4 reps are Dems. Light blue states can go red in strong R years like the 2014 mid-terms (Ernst) and low turnout elections like 2016 (Grassley). Even in those years, they squeaked out relatively narrow majorities.
Joni Ernst won with with just 52% in the 2014 mid-terms, which were a strong R year. Depending on who the Dems put in and how hard they fight for it, she could absolutely be defeated.
It’s the amphetamines.
I just think it’s important to defy some of this self-defeating rhetoric. chb said 40%, but the polls indicate that nationally the capital “D” Deplorables who take pride in their hate are closer to 28% or %30. That’s a lot of people, but the only reason they have the political power they do is because they all vote…
