Evil clown under an overpass? yeah, sure, OK. That’s fine.

(Whispers) because it’s the clown thats standing behind you. (Giggles) if you turn around...he’ll get your nose (pulls out scissors) he loves to get noses.

Going to play Devil’s advocate here: I grew up in SE Ohio where the opioid/heroin problem is arguably worse. The small towns where these terrible situations take hold do not have the same manpower or financial resources the larger cities have to address the myriad issues that opioid abuse creates. This may be the only

The child was in no immediate danger and crime scene photos are SOP.

For one, I’m glad the little boy is with the relatives. So the mother fights two years for custody and then shoots up in the car. Well, sorry, she does not deserve custody of her child. I know a woman that had sole custody of her son as the father was absent from her life. One day mom decided to get high and then died

This was my first thought. The kids raised by “Mommy bloggers” are growing up, and may well be mad as hell that their entire life is public property. This promises to be an entirely new area of case law.

She watches these videos where kids open mystery boxes with toys inside and/or unboxes new toys and a lot of them have clearly done it so many times that any thrill they might get from a new toy is totally gone.

It reminds me of years ago when there use to be this family singing group at our local Renaissance Festival, a father and IIRC 5 kids dressing up and performing. The first year I saw them I thought it was OK, but I quickly realized that the kids were not so much into it, and later I was convinced they were being

I wondered about that when the Jon & Kate Plus 8 story broke. I wasn’t familiar with the show until they started appearing on tabloid covers. I was talking about it with a friend who has seen it because his younger sisters liked the show, and he told me there’s an entire episode dedicated to potty training - little

as someone who got caught up in the “mormon mommy bloggers” of the 2010's, i know exactly which one you’re talking about!

her husband left his job in finance to help his wife run “their business” and is the one who photographed their mother/daughter day. it’s beyond fucked, imho. those poor kids are living in “the

Holy fucking shit. That beats an acquaintance of mine who put her kid’s shit-filled diaper in the freezer so she could take it to the pediatrician’s office and have them inspect it for parasites.

I wonder about this a lot too- but I imagine that it will eventually be subject to the child actor/model policies. If someone cannot legally consent to their likeness to be used to promote something, their parents are legally allowed to make that decision for them. However, there should be protections built in where

While we’re at it, we should also ban the following:

Setting aside the question of whether they should have been posted in the first place... What kind of controlling, asshole parents wouldn’t delete them from public view at the child’s request?

Those are called “parents with boundary issues”.

When they hit puberty evvvvvverything embarasses them though! But I generally think fully naked photos, poop, and the like arent something parents should put on social media.

I am not a parent, but a good rule of thumb:

It’s weird that they’re so obviously proud of her and love her that they want to share everything but are comfortable ruining their relationship with their kid rather than just take down the photos.

I’m of the opinion that if a picture might embarrass your kid don’t share it. Let your kid have some privacy. Save them for a photo album or something offline. If they want to share the picture when they are older let them.

This is from that linked CNN article too: “Testifying at the hearing Friday, Camp offered this defense for his comments: “a non-existent” knowledge of Canadian criminal law.
