I would go with the first one, because its avaliable on both 3DS and Iphone/ipad in the trilogy. It has aged well and if you end up playing more of them its fun to experiance the story from start to finish.

Why does no one count these as visual novels as well? I don’t mean 100% of course but they are very much in line with the amount of talking and text..at least the first games were (havent played many of the new ones)

I’m only on the second case right now, but fuck the music direction in this game is incredible. Ace Attorney games have always been pretty solid when it comes to music but this game, so far at least, takes the cake.

The third game is generally the favorite, but in order for it to have the impact it should, you would have to play the first two games first.

A close or direct translation wouldn’t be possible for a commercially released game, digital or not, is what I’m trying to say. There’s just so much stuff text-wise that wouldn’t fly.

After playing TGAA in Japanese, I’m not sure it could survive localization with the man themes intact. It would be almost a different game, and I’m not sure I’d want that. Just wait for the fan translation, they can get away with a lot more than a commercially released version could.

The whole Perceive mechanic would have worked a lot better if you could see the motion as a more obvious overall change in the character movement, and if it wasn’t limited to the 3ds screen. It would be a lot less clumsy on a bigger screen where changes were more evident.
