You're missing the point. Even if you didn't do the Arrival dlc it doesn't change the fact that an exploding relay can wipe out millions to billions of people in that system.
What I wasn't fine with is any of your individual choices (recruiting both Geth and Quarians, saving the Rachni, curing the Genophage) having no bearing on the resolution of the story, while relatively minor things (upgrading the Normandy) had an enormous effect on the ME2 suicide run, and subsequently throughout ME3.
