Rejection of and identification with gay subcultures/labels/stereotypes seems to be a generational thing, something the writers have peppered through the season: Eddie called out Dom as the Castro Clone, Patrick unsure what to make of "Seal Pup", Augustin tangled with the homeless kids over the term "queer", Otters

Patrick really didn't belong in this episode, and every time he chimed in it was like "hey, remember: I'm the main character, so focus on me!"

They really drifted into Look Around You territory with that line.

I'm under the impression it's big in California and nowhere else. I'm not even sure it's available here in Canada/Ontario/Toronto.

I applaud the show for bothering to mention that someone on PrEP should still be using a condom. It's literally the first time I've seen someone advocate PrEP/Truvada and acknowledge that it doesn't take the place of a condom (because of all those other STIs, though this wasn't stated).

I thought the point was to further distance Patrick from everyone. He's dressed as a game character, and there's a moment of false hope that he's found someone else who'd dress up as a video game character. But no, he's Legolas. Worse, even: he's half of a costumed pair. Patrick is truly alone.

Kevin's also in a vulnerable position – if he breaks up with John, he jeopardizes his plans for permanent residence when his work visa expires (recall he conversation with Patrick at the bar, before the rugby game).

I knew of him because of Portlandia, but after catching up on 150+ Harmontown podcasts earlier this year, then branching out to The X-Files Files and The Indoor Kids, I feel like I'm cyberstalking Kumail.

I'm only halfway through the episode and I want to reach into the screen and strangle Gene. I hope this isn't a sign of impending Flanderizing. Flanderization.

Wait, weren't the wall-scribblers the people Father Coward locked out of the church, who then took refuge in the community centre where they turned to basement goo zombies?

I think the weak link in this setup was Dawn being the one in charge when Gorman is so transparently and brazenly trying to upset the system. She may turn her back on some of the things he's done to other recruits, but he doesn't hide that he wants sexual favours on the table, that he wants Edwards replaced, and that

How about a gas leak?

Does this mean he's off Looking? I really hope not.

Depending on how this wish-based system works, he may not have needed to know.

I completely forgot about the fetus when I was writing that, so maybe that was Kevin's wish (since wishes seem to be a thing now) and not Laurie's, and his hook-up was someone else's. Anyway. Whatever.

Did I get the Patti "understand" thing right? The GR (and Kevin?) believe the Departed were chosen because at that moment someone intently, selfishly, guiltily, wished to be free?

How do you rob someone to death?

LIVE: MIRACULOUS RESURRECTION CLAIM

Aren't most of the GRs people who lost family in the Departure?

The GR's whole shtick is to be a constant reminder to people who may be trying to put the Departure behind them. All they have to do is be there and wait until something pushes one of the left-behinds to despair. Each of the campaigns we've seen them pull off so far has been a public poke in the wound. Their next
