Exactly how I felt until you drive some of these cars where you NEED radar and/or camera based perimeter detection systems since you can't see out of them. I thought the reverse sensors in my F-350 would be annoying, but I tell you what, I really need them in certain circumstances.

I completely agree, but the main reasoning for them basically comes down to fuel economy. You see, a human foot will always have constant, small movements and adjustments as you go over bumps, or you adjust your foot because it's getting uncomfortable, or whatever. All of those small oscillations add up to more fuel
