I thought it was sheer insanity as well. Tested every change, no problems. It was 150 miles a day, so I’m pretty sure the highway driving is what makes that possible, but that’s my one data point on that. Mobil 1 0W-40 or Castol Edge 5W-30.

I just got a Lexus RX330 with 80K miles.All service done by the dealer, including oil about 2K ago, sticker says due in 3 more so it’s surely dino. I’m thinking about it, then I hear of people going 300k on dino oil. I’m conflicted.

That sucks balls. Here in TX we can run 35% on the front two, so people are always trying to get away with 20%. My old eyes can’t see out of anything darker anyway though.
