I propose an experiment: Let's reform Facebook into some number of 0-man teams. If they tank after two years, we'll know it doesn't work. Also, we won't have to deal with Facebook anymore. Win-win.

A very good article. I agree, I'm pretty excited to see what multiplayer can bring.
… My gosh, you're right. I think I've subconsciously realized this, and that's why I've been reading more Ars Technica lately.
It's on sale for $15 until tomorrow (12/3) at 10AM PST. Sorry if I'm being annoying by coming back 4 months after your comment, but I just played 8 hours during the free weekend, and I really enjoyed the game. Good night!
I agree, though I don't care too much about the Launch integration. The biggest issue is consistent text editing. In my opinion, Evernote should only allow formatting that can be created through basic Markdown, with a simple extension for checklists. I don't necessarily care if this Markdown is exposed to the user,…
Wow, good stuff. I know I'm a procrastinator, and I know it's bad, but I never thought I'd procrastinate my way into an article about doing it productively. Yeah, I'm procrastinating right now. Maybe if I set up my to-do list to follow these tips, I can finish my work between 11 and midnight...
From Panorama taps to C++ vs. HTML. Yeah, we got a bit off track. Thanks, it was fun. It's nice to see that not everyone on the internet is ready to jump at your throat for having an opinion. +1.
I'm afraid this is where I'll be disagreeing with you. I've never seen an HTML/JavaScript app match the quality of a good native app. Wunderlist and Facebook tried this approach, but it just isn't as fast, integrated, or aesthetic as natively-developed apps. If you could point out some that you feel are high-quality,…
You make an excellent point. I have to agree that I wouldn't expect every iPhone user to figure it out on their own.
Hello! Just wanted to point out that you don't have to tap the arrow — tapping anywhere on the bar flips the direction. When I first wanted to change the direction, I tapped the opposite end of the little preview window, and it did what I wanted.
Dude. Unless you think that tapping an arrow is complicated, iOS is still easy to use. Don't hate.
O_o … Apple's implementation of full screen is more useful and more capable than any other implementation that I know of. And you just gave the reason: Full screen apps have been part of Windows for two decades. Yes, apps have had the ability to take over your screen, but they've always had to do so by force,…

If you consider a MacBook Air (refurb) and iPhone 4S (used) to be Apple stock, then yes. Otherwise, nope. Just speaking as a user.
Please imagine this comment walking slowly forward, with both arm raised in a gesture of peace.
Not at all. Consider a few "power user" activities — keyboard shortcuts, text expansion, and automating repetitive tasks. OS X has all these features right from the start. You can customize and add keyboard shortcuts for anything that appears in an app's menu; the OS has text expansion built in; and you can automate…
This'll be a separate reply since it pertains to a separate aspect of your comment. It's a bit self-centered, but it's going to clear my head a little. Feel free to ignore.
Very good; I can't really argue with that. You didn't happen to read a post on how to argue over the internet, did you?
You are contradicting yourself by calling iOS 6 crap. It makes no sense to say that iOS was great under Steve Jobs, but now that someone else is in charge of the company, all that greatness has disappeared. There are still five layers of Jobsian iOS inside this latest version. And in my eyes, the sixth layer is just…
My phone is going to get upgraded very soon. I bought my aging Droid 2 almost one year ago, and it served me really well until an "upgrade" broke my ability to root. Without ROMs, I'm stuck using the old Blur interface (and it really does blur the line between using my phone and subjection to ancient torture…
