Phones have been able to combine spectra for a few years now. There will also be a many years long period of migration from 3G//4G to 5G (5G will use different wavelengths than 3G and 4G). For some connections, a lower frequency (600-700) may work better, and for others, something higher (think 2500, 5000 or higher)…
