Maaaaybe it’ll finally dawn to the GOP that Trump isn’t loyal to anyone but himself. If you win, he’ll take credit. If you lose, he’ll throw you under the bus without a second thought. They hitched their wagons to him, and now they are fucked.

Lots of good news coming out of Virginia. The governor’s mansion stays blue. And Trump is having a meltdown. He’s throwing Enron Ed Gillespie under the bus.

They got crushed in both New Jersey (which was expected) and in Virginia (which was not so expected). They will never admit it but they are shaking in their boots right now. This means that they will do everything in their power to ramp up voting restrictions for the 2018 midterms.

She was the one I was rooting for the most in the VA elections, because god the poetic justice is just so fucking good.

I cried when I found out she won. What a beautiful “fuck you” to bigotry.

As a Virginian, I was approaching this evening with a feeling of dread—I was concerned that the closing poll numbers really indicated the race for Gov. was tightening.

A trans woman defeating the guy who tried to pass a bathroom bill is the kind of poetic justice we need.

For the two positions on my ballot where it was Republican or bust, I wrote in the ghosts of RFK and Robert Anton Wilson. Was it a worthless gesture of petty spite? Sure was. Did I enjoy doing it anyway? Sure did.

Yep. The republican party is now the party of Trump, so anyone running as a republican is automatically a Trumpanzee.

You left out the question that the reporter asked Trump at the press conference in South Korea; which was a brilliant question and should turn into a talking point for anyone who wants gun regulation:

That mental health excuse would carry a lot more weight if the people using it weren’t actively ripping apart the healthcare safety net the mentally ill depend upon.

Of course, the unsaid postscript to the mental health excuse is “...and we’re not going to bother tackling that one, either.”

Proud to say I voted straight Democrat ticket in Virginia today; hope enough others did as well to make Northam our next governor.

I fucking hate the “Mental Health” excuse shit. Not only is it demeaning to people who do actually suffer mental health problems and aren’t just domestic abuser thugs but they always go “every country has the problem”.

Yeah, if this is what they’re going with now, “mental health issues” I want receipts on these fuckers. What was this asshole’s diagnosis: bipolar, schizophrenic, depressed? Who was his doctor? What meds or therapy was he trying? Why didn’t that work?

Also, something about how Muslims are bad because of how “they” treat “their” women but you know, white guy beating his wife and child is A-OK!

Apparently, Muslims never suffer from mental health issues. When we do something bad, it’s entirely of our own volition. When a white person does something bad, it’s a defect in that otherwise pristine, gorgeous brain of theirs.
