I actually thought the Patriot’s exterior styling was actually kind of good-looking in a 90's Jeep Cherokee sort of way. That being said, the interior was garbage and so was the drivetrain.

Yup, they’re “Trail Rated “ alright. Just don’t take it through a moderately deep mud puddle.

We design all of those Trail Rated elements from the ground up… it’s not just a marketing term.

To be fair, the speed bumps at Trader Joes can be pretty nasty....

My prediction is that people will begin to move away from this model in the near future, even if EaaS is still gaining a little steam, right now.

You jest, but when I was a teenager, my older sister had a car with a busted radio. She just took a small boombox in the car with her. LoL.

Until the competition goes all-in on subscriptions, too. Then we’re all screwed no matter what car we subscribe to.

It’s very sad to me as someone who grew up in a GM family, whose first 4 vehicles were all GM, and who still has a soft spot for them today, to admit that the only vehicles they make that I have any interest in are the C8 and CT5-V (maybe a Suburban), and that there is little prospect of that changing.

GM said that it wanted to double revenue by 2030, largely through new digital (subscription) services

You don’t have to name it. Atompunk is actually a thing and you pretty much nailed it right on the head.

I feel like dieselpunk has a more art-deco aesthetic. This feels more like 50's atompunk, but now we are definitely splitting hairs, with a frickin’ laser beam.

Turbinepunk

You shouldn’t give away the ending like that without a spoiler alert.

This is what happens when you decide to just wing it...

As someone who has to travel to India for work on occasion I can tell you that Indian roads are abject chaos and honking is incessant. Most large trucks have “blow horn” or “honk horn” in huge letters across the back. Almost no vehicles have side view mirrors or have them folded in. If they were out they would

It’s kind of annoying how people have started using it as a catch-all to describe something mechanical and weird. Steampunk is a specific aesthetic. If this were to all into any of the ‘punk’ genre categories, it’d probably be steelpunk.

“Steampunk”

It’s just a trim job, no need to make a big flap about it.

Well, at least they have a consistent track record of cocking things up.

It’s the default method of expression in many developing countries - it signals anything and everything, from “hey jackass” to “coming through” to “it’s a lovely day out”.
