Felt bad for the car and the bus driver, the car owner not so much.

Had a Camaro like the one doing donuts, no way a hooker fits in the trunk with the top down.

Yeah, Ford has a way of sticking manufacturers with the blame, just ask Firestone.

Max payload is 1500lbs, but yeah obviously if you're hauling plywood all day you'd get a bigger truck. For someone who might haul plywood once every few years, it's more than enough.

Then you get the Ridgeline, since it will fit 24 sheets of 3/4" plywood.

those white gauges have got to become soul-piercers at night.

Hey, the grill is a work of art

And with shitty skeumorphic gauges to make it look extra phoned in!

But I need to haul 19 sheets of plywood!

You can fit 18 sheets of 3/4" plywood in the Maverick. For my use cases, it’s pretty perfect.

I’m rooting for this thing, but with the Maverick hybrid offering 40 MPG, I hope Hyundai is rushing to put the Tucson hybrid drivetrain in this. The first one to market with AWD + hybrid is going to crush it.

For when you want mpg of a full size/mid size truck but don’t want to drive a big vehicle.

So we’ve reach the “stick a tablet behind the steering wheel” design now.

Hey, no fair!  Stop trash-talking the Yugo!

I ordered mine in May and took delivery a few days back. My wife loves it. I can do most of the errands for which I need a truck and she can run about town in a quite and capable SUV. The base engine is underpowered...but still does the job fine.

22mpg says otherwise. They might not want the Maverick comparison (for this obvious reason) but Hyundai could learn a great deal from Ford since they need a hybrid (and perhaps a full EV) version.

22 MPG for this is appalling.

Wow, a review from Jalopnik where the reviewer doesnt seemingly reflexively hate the vehicle and wish they were driving a 1965 Lada or some other pos taken from a trash fire. How refreshing.

I am sure that the base engine is more than adequate engough. Especially if you are never going to exceed 70-75mph…

I really like this. But I’m weird, and I also really like the Baja.
