What reason would I have to not fly in one (other than a global pandemic)? Stop fear mongering.

Erik’s whole shtick is underinformed sarcasm and negativity. There’s a valid story here about the 737 MAX returning to flying and earning back trust from fliers, but he instead decided to just kind of imply it’s still dangerous.

This is expected, and fine and I wouldn’t hesitate to fly in one. I mean, how many people out there are still driving around with takata airbags? In all likelihood, this will be the safest jet in the air for a few years because of the added scrutiny.

Totally agree. Why even bother with a built-in nav anymore when almost everyone uses Google maps?

That add may be referring to the International Sightliner Toter - a very curious vehicle indeed. The wheelbase could be changed in order to move empty trailers across states that had shorter length limits for truck and trailer combinations in the ‘50's. Iowa’s was the shortest at 45'.

I think cab overs are the coolest looking trucks.

yeah, the ass end would squat and drag on the ground the moment you left the dealership lot.  It was a hideous, miserable, torture device and should be killed with fire ASAFP. I have fonder memories of a Ford Pinto.

I didn’t read the description or look at the pictures. I lived through this automotive era (and many others) and most everything from Detroit and elsewhere was CRAP. Quality, performance, style; utter dreck. Why someone would pay actual money for this is astounding. No Dice.

Don’t forget truck kun.

Having been in many K-cars, the 50-50 is baffling me too. I think it’s like people voting for Sanjaya for American Idol as a joke. You couldn’t pay me enough to drive or even be seen in this thing.

Here we have another truck person and he’s not happy.

I’m honestly baffled that this car is hovering around 50/50 NP/CP

you all are obviously too young to remember just how shitty these cars were compared to all other shitty american shit cars of the same era.  this car is fully representative of the Malaise era.

I mean, they were absolute shit.

When I was a kid, my dad explained why Cab Overs existed. It used to be that semi-trucks were not regulated on trailer length, but on total length of the semi and the trailer (and I think it varied from state to state). The Cab Over could pull a longer trailer and was the truck you wanted to have. You could get any

Shhh, you can’t support hot takes with that kind of story.

Not exactly. The construction isn’t at fault here (for once). The slab was on top of the lift shaft cover. Think of it like a concrete box placed on top of the lift shaft (panel building).

If the Final Destination documentaries have taught me anything...

Brutalist architecture.

Concrete Communist Block

Around here, impact guns go “gug-gug-gug!” If someone is getting a little too aggressive with theirs up on the roof, your crew lead will come over and tell them, “Hey man, not so many gugs.”

I was taught that on big trucks when i was a boy. "Daddy says its tight enough when it creaks"
