Not saying how I know,.....but there is one manufacturer I know that still does a lot of the vehicle configuration validation on a mainframe and through a 1990s interface that is all 2 to 5 digit option code driven. Unless the person coding the configuration really knows each and every code, moderately weird

A few years ago when shopping for a new Honda Pilot for my wife, I was told that the dealer can send in a request for any valid configuration to the factory. However, if the factory ‘decides’ never to build one like you want, well tough. By “decides”, I got the impression from several dealers, that meant that Honda

What is the benchmark? The proverbial Bus?

Hold onto the bridges. The way the infrastructure is going, we’ll need them for replacements.

Speaking of large trucks, I’d like to see some of this hybrid and EV tech applied to garbage trucks. Stop and go with a lot of engine rev’ing seems like it could be made more efficient with maybe a smaller, constant and lower db engine.

Why not just have a generator on a trailer? Solves one problem, but negates the solution of an all electric truck.

My mother taught me never to let my father wrench on any of the family vehicles without being supervised. Thus, in a way, she taught me how NOT to work on cars.

1984 Chevrolet Citation. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. It started me on the path to knowing how to fix all sorts of automotive problems and with that knowledge I’ve saved tens of thousands of dollars doing the work myself. I still do carry scars and a toolbox in my trunk. A toolbox that I haven’t had to use in

The mission statement is more like, “It is easier just to change (price, date, options) than to ask for permission.”

If you didn’t have posi in the back, clear the highway because you needed more than 4 lanes to do a u-turn in one motion. I’d have to make 3 point turn just to get into parking spaces. If I still drove an old 1070 Olds Delta 88, the only place I would be able to park would be Costco.

My grandmother had a 1970 Olds Delta 88. Its weight was indeed something to take note of. At least it had the 455 c.i. “Rocket” engine. It was easily beating the average late 80s cars in drag races, if it could get enough grip with standard street tires. It got something like 3.4 GPM under full throttle and around 10

I may sound like a parent here, but “If you cannot afford registration, insurance, license and all the other things that are required to own and drive a car, you probably shouldn’t be owning a car.”

Let me explain. There are u-turns on each side of what would be regular street overpasses. That way you don’t have to sit at stop lights and make two left turns to get back on the highway in the opposite direction you were going. Sometimes this saves 5 to 15 minutes depending on the intersection and time of day.

With much difficulty.

You obviously are an environmentally insensitive arse! How dare you burn fossil fuel to manicure your privileged lawn so you can flaunt your wasteful Capitalistic landscaping.   /S

Way to start a hella long argument about what constitutes right and left politics.

Very good explanation. Thx.

27 years and not accounting for interest paid or potential earned! That takes some faith in Lord Elon.

1st Gear: Less moving parts, no problem. Simply start designing the electric parts like they used to for the main computers in Mitsubishi or the main power banks in Jeeps or headlight bulbs in Chevrolets. There’s got to be some EE designers still around from some defunct British car manufacturers.

Prior to 2001, Oklahoma’s threshold for felony larceny was only $50.
