@Trickyhop: To protect the screen or for some of the screens equipment; in some laptops the stuff connecting the screen is spread out over the width of the lid in this case it can't be so everything probably wraps around the screen and then leads to where it swivels.

Yep always need the cheap backup unlocked phone & im thinking about one right now for regular phone they are the only one who has a small qwerty non touchscreen smartphone.
