Well said. Thanks for the perspective.

Yep. Funny how the answer is always “they’re free to get another job” and not “they’re free to mobilize together and make reasonable demands”.

Bingo.

It didn’t change my opinion, but as a new (white) resident it did strengthen my resolve to be more outwardly visible with my support + to try to become more involved *locally*.

Ooh... Well said.

I live in Ypsi (3 weeks running), but was out of town for all of this (so I guess, 2 weeks). Seeing the graffiti, then the response, then the jackass in the SUV, then the football game response was a fun rollercoaster but ultimately ended positively, which I was quite happy to see.

I was at a small press conference this week about the agenda for a state Senate committee hearing, finishing about a half hour prior. By the time I sat down in the committee room there was already an article up about the press conference, with pics and quotes from speakers who weren’t on a script. Some of it I’m sure

Indeed.

It’s the fucking defining city in this horrible war. Use of chemical weapons IN ALEPPO in *2013* is why we almost went to war there, until Putin seized on a hypothetical from Kerry.

1. Probably Bullshit

Checking BBC most read: senior militant leader killed near Aleppo, 5th highest spot.

That’s really sad.

My uncle is a son of immigrants who is a millionaire a few times over due to hard work, luck, and frugality (he lives in a house probably worth 40,000, and the only reason I *know* he’s a millionaire is that he paid me for many a year to help him keep things in order).

A) thanks for covering this so despite Gawker demise (rip, pouring a 40) it is covered on a site where I can delight in the comments

There are *years* of podcasts on current events he did (with a partner). I’m relistening to them now, because I’m moving and it helps. Pretty damn sure he didn’t have a writing staff for those, but the humor *and* insight is still spot fucking on*. If you can do the same, do it.

If you watch the show, like, ever, you can glean the incredible amount of research that must go into every long segment *before* they start writing the jokes.

If he manages to get out a Bugle episode before handing it off for good, I don’t care. Goddmmit, Oliver! Give me and Andy one more proper podcast!

Good article. On the horrible flip side, Michigan has a statute of limitations for child sex abuse.... So a friend who finally came to terms (as much as you can) that his mother’s ex raped him knows the guy is living in the state apparently with a new family and can’t do shit (a year past limitations), but the girl in

River works for me. Some places far faster than others. Creeks.... Not so much.
