In many places? Yes. Mostly because the "local store" is an hour away, and it's probably a chain anyway.

I'd been brushing this one off as yet another dystopian, when I was sick of the subgenre a year and a half ago. But you make this one sound a little more interesting - I like the scientific side of it. I'll check this one out if the opportunity arises (which is not super likely in the near future, but you never know).

Oh, I loved that! I thought it really captured the sense of being inside the battle, where you get tunnel vision and have no idea what's going on. But it's only acceptable as long as there aren't actual plot points happening.

@Gjetostbuster:disqus I recently realized that I'm ridiculously paranoid about salmonella when I make eggs, yet I eat raw cookie dough with abandon.

A lot of self-help seems to me to be people taking advantage of those who are really struggling with something. There are exceptions, of course, some really useful books, but most of the genre hinges on poking into people's weaknesses, or on convincing people that they have weaknesses they wouldn't otherwise have

I really just removed the planets and that's what was there.

"Men Are From Women"?

"Men Are From Women"?

Well, Snow White & the Huntsman looked seriously awesome from the trailers. You had to actually watch the movie to find out that it was dumb.
