I can’t stand Rent and the older I get the more it annoys me.

The writers of Rent expect us to feel sorry for a handful of complete morons because they are either artsy or gay or both, and their struggle is so REAL, RIGHT?? But no, they’re idiots, Benny is the only dude who has the right idea, and his friends are assholes for not wanting to pay to live in his building.

Watching Rent as an adult is kind of like watching The Little Mermaid as an adult. I still find it enjoyable, because I love the songs, but mostly I’m just questioning why people thought they could get away with not paying rent in NYC, and feeling kind of bad for Benny the whole time. I hope this piss-poor rendition of Rent reminded everyone that Rent is the most overwrought, overrated garbage musical on the face of the earth. Rent is bad, and I’m glad Fox made it worse.
