Dude, why apologize? Long posts about sci-fi are basically the raison d'etre of the internet.

I couldn't care less about Fuller's stable of favorites, though I wouldn't mind seeing Hettienne Park doing things on screen again.

He said late last year that the plan was to make an original sci-fi IP and cast old Star Trek people in it, so I guess he's not finished yet.

Shared universes are all the rage, dear boy.

Well how else are you going to make a scene compelling when your scene partner is a Horta!?

Do I have to?

I'm pretty sure CBS would put the kibosh on his alien drilldos.

The Binding of Kirk

A line of Other Times comics seems like an interesting idea, like that one series of Batman comics based in the 60's.

Hey, Frank Miller's Batman makes sense now!

As I understand it, in the right hands you can go so far as to cast Luthor as an antihero who goes too far in his fear of beings more powerful than humanity. Joker, on the other hand, is pretty much always a rabid dog.

Dark Knight Rises gave a bit of a nod to it with the doctor noting that Bruce Wayne's body is wearing out much faster than it should.

Wasn't there a weird-ass non-canon comic where Peter turned into a giant spider and gave birth to himself?

Enjoyable is good, fundamentals are good too.

Basically Batman should be TV Daredevil with less echolocation and more money.

I remember him wearing a cape, though. There was even a one-off story about how a kid found one of Superman's capes, I think.

This seems like a good place to ask: What's a good starter set of Superman comics? I've already enjoyed All-Star Superman and would be interested to dig into some of the other highlights.

It's like Harry Potter finding out he's a wizard but Voldemort blew up Hogwarts.

Bordertown seems like it's essentially The Goode Family Guy and it's less than the sum of its parts.

*slowly pulls curtain on shelf of anime discs I started in the last year*
