My understanding from the first day was that capital-w “Wellness” here is going after the Goops of the world (aka. the con artists), not the local Y classes and fancy sunscreens.

You do realize that “unlimited time off” refers to the fact that it’s in the apocalypse and there are no jobs anymore right? That’s why you have unlimited time off in this scenario. This is not a real world situation.

I mean that’s great and all, but those things involve a loooooot of extra work. Like, digging a new pit for an outhouse is no fun, and chamber pots gotta be emptied somewhere, by someone. Not to mention, both are...not great at preventing the spread of disease.

I agree with you. Going off of the descriptions for the first matchup (wellness/capitalism) I had the impression that we are talking about the kind of “wellness” that is capitalism.

I don’t think yoga is exploitation? Just that the “Wellness industry” often thrives on some really toxic viewpoints about what is good for people, often times actively promotes literally toxic substances or snake oil, and may cause some real harm in promoting unrealistic body images.

Once again, I’m crusading against Wellness. It’s not the concept of wellness as in being well, it’s Wellness as in buying $100 juice cleanses.

I stayed in the Trump Hotel in Manhattan just before the election(I didn’t pick it, work did) and it was an incredibly tacky place just like you’d expect. “Gold”  everything all over the place. Trump branded everything, with the TV tuned to commercials of other Trump properties when you turn it on narrated by the man…
