I’d like to see that metrics for social media “influencers” like this nudnik that actually have a quantifiable effect on what they’re promoting. She could have said that “I promoted business X and within the next month they saw an increase in revenue of Y dollars”

Exactly this. It evolved into a racist caricature. The original “do you kno de wey” was fine. The clucking/spitting/etc that has come from it is where it has gotten racist.

You either haven’t read the article, which explains that the accent is not the racist part, or you have and are making a bad-faith argument to misconstrue the author. Either way, do better.

The difference between the accent and racism is the content. It is racist because it is mainly full of people saying Uganda is full of AIDS and ebola. If it was a crowd doing an accent and talking about any old shite I would not point the finger of blame.
