I feel like there’s two ways of solving this simply: either pay them in a manner that fairly represents the value they bring to their school and/or allow them to profit from their likeness, or mandate the amateurism of collegiate athletics by getting all the money out of it. No more 6, 7, or 8 figure salaries for

Not necessarily. Simply allowing players to sell their own likenesses, sell autographs, sign jerseys, make commercials, etc would require no investment on the part of the colleges. What the NCAA does goes beyond simply not paying students, it strips students of money they could otherwise be making.

Fenves told the interviewer he “cannot comprehend how athletics could be a part of university life” if athletes were paid.

Will never happen. Even the “best” players only have a 50% win rate.

Wait a second. I usually only get 20-30SR for wins and lose about the same for losses (with any character), making it impossible to gain rank.

This is really alarmist nonsense. If you read the people complaining, they are Mercy rezbots. Look at the reddit post you linked: he calls tempo rezzing “wasting a rez.” Of course he’s going to get less SR, he’s hiding during the big times he could get major heal assist. You have to hide during a full ultfest,

The comments over on Gizmodo are depressing AF. To paraphrase, the elderly doctor deserved it, should not have raised his voice, should have just used his “cell phone to re-book patients from his hotel room,” and that this whole incident has been entirely blown out of proportion.

The American people, especially the honest folk of middle America, are not kind decent folk. Well, they may be, until they encounter hierarchy.

Then they become craven asskissing bootlickers. We are a nation of joiners and toadies, and I will put a huge amount of money on a very strong correlation with joining a

This whole “OBEY ANY AND EVERY ORDER YOU ARE GIVEN OR YOUR HUMAN RIGHTS ARE FORFEIT” deal aboard airliners is getting really old.

All people named Ross automatically deserve to be punched.

I work for a small theatre chain and even we supply personal closed caption devices for the hearing impaired that does not disturb other patrons in the slightest. Surprised to see other chains do not have the same.
