We play this game when faced with multiple dishes on the table at Chinese restaurants: which will reheat nicely? Oh, the noodles? Great! Then let’s finish eating the dish that won’t reheat nicely and not bring it home.

There is a middle-of-the-road approach. Maybe enough for two meals instead of for a week? Yes, it means more cooking, but less waste if she won’t eat it again.

I save all the pale wobbly skin to fry in a pan til crisp and eat it with rice. I call it chicken bacon.
