It’s great to see a classic story of American life be told the right way, with an Irish person, a British person and two Australians.

I’ll be honest. Nothing about this, from the trailer to everything on this page, does not irritate me.

My friend told me that animation for adults only really comes from Japan, so I said “What about Don Hertzfeldt or The Simpsons?” and he shut his stupid fucking mouth.

Agreed on both points. I think he’s achieved enough clout in show business to keep starring in action-dramas and also pop up in an Apatow comedy every now and then without ruining his “brand.” A buddy flick starring him, Seth Rogen, and Jay Baruchel would be some good fun.

Can you just jump in to this, or will you be lost if you haven’t seen the first seven?

A beginning that promises all sorts of exciting stuff, then never delivers on those promises? Sounds more like JJ Abrams than Snyder.

I always thought the final scene would have been vastly improved if the old guy had been there alone. Or at least have one of the little kids whining that they were bored.

As is de rigour with just about every Spielberg film, if he were to excise the last ten minutes, it’d be perfect. But no... He has to get the schmaltz in.

Cross is fine, I love Mr. Show and Arrested Development. He seems like an alt comic guy who had a solid and steady career straddling the line between alt comedy and mainstream entertainment. But... that’s not all that unusual though, is it? I mean, he never went away and I’m only so interested in what makes him

George Clooney is a sentimentalist. Which isn’t bad in itself but its got to be balanced out with a bit of self-aware humor (which Clooney was famous for early in his career). My favorite ‘earnest’ films started out at least partially humorous then the mood changed in the second act. If you’re already earnest, serious

If ever there was a band that I wish had just kind of peaced out in 1999 it was The Smashing Pumpkins. Haven’t seen even the slightest bit of promise from anything they’ve put out since then and Billy Crogan’s evolution into a conspiracy theorist/wrestling enthusiast clashes pretty hard with the persona he used to

I’ve never really agreed with the sentiments expressed in your first paragraph. For all its reputation as a doorstop, Herbert is an absolute mercenary when it comes to moving the plot along. I’m not saying it doesn’t sag in places, but when he needs to he’ll skip months ahead between chapters.  A two-hour runtime

Here is your obligatory reminder that Gary Oldman is two weeks younger than Gary Numan.

No miak, no deal.

People who think Dune is awful really haven’t seen a lot of bad movies.

Ohhh, this looks cool!

No. This series is way past its sell date. I checked out with the violence porn of Negan bashing those people’s heads in. (I forget the names). I watched a few episodes of Fear the Walking Dead and they squandered the one thing it had going for it, which is it started right when the zombie apocalypse started and

Its like losing the D&D Community episode because Chang black faces as a dark elf.”

I liked Borat when it came out. That was also 15 years ago, and my sense of humor has evolved beyond his shtick. I get it, I get why folk find him funny, but I’m so over it that I don’t even understand why he’s still a “thing” (aside from, ya know, the folk that still like him).

Kirsten Rausing of the food packaging company Tetra Pak is the richest woman in England. Rowling isn’t even in the top twenty five.
