I know what you're getting at but at the same time it's hard to take someone credibly who thinks NIN is "metal" lol

I genuinely can’t put my head in a place where I’d feel OK darkening my skin for any reason. Is this a generational gap thing? Is anyone here willing to admit to having worn it at some point for the sake of an honest conversation about why?

Thank you; exactly.

Yep, I love Jesse Hassenger: Destroyer of Reductive Absolutism

It can be true that Apatow’s movies are pretty white, and also that they feature a variety of comic personalities. Do you find Steve Carell, Amy Schumer, and Pete Davidson that similar in terms of style?

Your description sounds like someone needing to be babied through the experience of... watching a movie that runs longer than 89 minutes? Sorry, it’s not something I relate to at all.

I agree, it makes no sense, unless you’ve ever seen an ensemble movie, or a non-ensemble TV show. Unless either of those two things exist, it makes no sense whatsoever.

I think the elegant solution would have been to make Heigl’s character religious or a Republican,

Why does it bother you that a character in a movie might have different personal views on abortion than you do? The movie they made was about two adults at varying levels of maturity having an unplanned/accidental baby together. If you want a movie where a character has an entirely open, untroubled view of having an

If they don’t run into Staten Island’s best residents - Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, Colin Robinson, and Guillermo - I’m not interested.

Uh, what? Sarah Marshall was such a great movie about toxic relationships, and for me (who had just found out my wife had been cheating on me for 6 months), it felt very real. I was a mess, but it really felt like a slightly exaggerated take on my pain.

When I found out it was kind of a therapy for him, it made even

Everything’s coming up golems these days. Golems are trending.

I was thinking an anthology series where each episode would be given to a different writer/director to make their own thing. A classic Star Trek moral dilemma one week, a political thriller about the Federation council the next, then a nasty little horror story at a remote outpost. The possibilities are endless.

She did in fact explain the actual Picard maneuver correctly - however she knew about it. But of course the shirt pull is always there when someone mentions the it...

Well damn that sounds pretty interesting.

OK, this video really made me worry about Star Trek: Discovery. ‘Shore Leave’ is a horrible choice and that guy should be embarrassed. ‘Mirror Mirror’ is a fun episode but focusing on the gold lame is troubling.

That said, ‘City on the Edge of Forever’ and ‘The Inner Light’ are GREAT choices made by HORRIBLE people.

The first three of those are just gimmes. I bet all three of those come up if you google “Best star trek episode”. “Shore Leave” is at least a weird choice. “The Devil in the Dark” was the best choice here, and it seemed like a genuine one, too.

I like the one that delivered a social statement like it was hitting you over the head with a mallet.
