He did go to Klingon jail in Star Trek 6. Was that good enough for you?

Data and Geordi are best friends. Bashir and O’Brien are best friends. Tom and Harry are best friends. What else do you need?

He’s not too fond of it either.

He was. The episode was called Court Martial.

DS9 does everything that Voyager should have been able to do.

Every year I search for a way to stream it.It’s always so complicated. The Emmys are even worse. Luckily, I have an antenna, so I can still watch.

Note the assumption here: “TV show format dictates artistic/entertainment value”.

My father lived in Germany until he was 7, and after that he didn’t speak German regularly. In his 60’s he returned to the country of his youth, and began speaking the language again, as if no time had gone by. One day he went to a shop, and while speaking to the shopkeeper, he couldn’t remember the word for

Just out of curiosity, does it bore you, or do you object to something about it? Like, is it it just uninteresting, or does it depict something you can’t support? (Or a possible third reason?)

Gee, I hope not.

I can allow that people prefer episodic TV, although it does imply that they don’t care to look into things as deeply as someone who prefers a more complex narrative. It’s possible he prefers complexity in other mediums, and just enjoys TV more casually, though. The guy does enjoy some of the best episodic TV ever made

I didn’t say music doesn’t require close attention, just that it requires a different type of attention. Specifically, you don’t have to look at it.

Isn’t peacemaker an old west slang term for a gun? Cillian Murphy kinda sounds like a cowboy name.

I think this is a funny take on prestige TV. The idea that it’s just some nerds who want to watch something with substance, something that requires something from you, isn’t wrong exactly. But the way you’ve framed it, like there’s something wrong with not being satisfied with junk TV is the funny bit. I have a kid,

More of a Single Guy fan, huh?

Never mind, I figured out the star button.

Can’t like this comment enough.

No, that was a separate thought.

I think you’re only saying that because you (presumably) didn’t live through 1955-1985, but did live through 1985-2015. People were still listening to Elvis in ‘85, and old TV shows were rerun ad nauseum. Reagan was bringing back the 50's morality trying to roll back all the hippie progress. Nothing ended then either.

What are your thoughts on the Star Trek theme? Does it have to be serious music not associated with a media franchise? What if it was an Avenged Sevenfold song?
